HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR CLASSES?

WHAT IF I AM HAVING TROUBLE REGISTERING?

We use an online system for ALL registrations. If you are having difficulty registering, please email [email protected]. If the problem is not resolved, please call our office.

HOW OLD MUST MY CHILD BE TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES?

Children ages seven (7) to eighteen (18) are eligible for classes.  We offer classes for 5 & 6-year-olds. Children must turn the minimum age by the class start date.

DOES MY CHILD NEED PRIOR GOLF EXPERIENCE?

There is no prior golf experience needed.  Our coaches are trained in positive youth development.  That means they are experts in making young people feel comfortable and assure they have a positive, non-intimidating experience.

IS EQUIPMENT PROVIDED OR DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BRING CLUBS?

We will provide clubs to those who don’t have them and have successfully requested clubs during the registration process. Students with their own clubs should bring to each class.

WHEN ARE CLASSES HELD?

We offer Spring, Summer, and Fall classes. Spring classes are offered in April, May, and June. Summer classes are offered in July and August. Fall classes are offered in September and October. We also offer summer camps in July and August.

WHERE ARE CLASSES HELD?

Classes are held at 11 public or private golf courses/clubs and facilities. Schedules vary by location.

WHAT IS CLASS DURATION?

Classes are 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes long depending on the time of year and the level class. 

CAN I REGISTER FOR MORE THAN ONE CLASS DURING THE 9-WEEK SESSION?

We ask that parents choose one class per week in a given 9-week session.  Registering for more than one class a session is prohibited.  If a class is full you may register and be put on a waitlist for that class. If/when a spot in the class becomes available an email will be sent to you to complete registration. Registration must be completed within 48 hours to successfully be enrolled otherwise the registration system will move down the waitlist.

CLASS ARRIVAL TIME

We ask that all participants arrive 10 minutes prior to class start time.  This will allow all participants to receive any information from our coaches, staff or volunteers, or any materials needed and warm-up prior to class.  There will be a Parent Orientation at the first class of each 9-week session.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

In the case of inclement weather, we will do everything possible to hold classes as schedules are extremely tight. We typically only cancel a class for severe weather or if the golf course/facility is CLOSED.

All decisions to cancel classes are made approx. 2 hours prior to the start of class and will be posted on our website no later than 90 minutes before the start of class.

It is the parents RESPONSIBILITY to check on the status of class here on our website or via our SOCIAL MEDIA outlets. PLEASE DO NOT CALL OUR OFFICE or THE FACILITY OF YOUR CHILD'S CLASS.

We are unable to send emails to notify of cancellations!

WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR?

Children are required to wear closed-toe shoes. Sneakers or golf shoes are preferred as we will have a warm-up portion of the class. Students are asked to wear neat attire and collared shirts are preferred. Children should be dressed appropriately according to weather conditions.

WHAT ARE CLASSES LIKE? (WHAT IS THE CHILD-TO-COACHES RATIO?)

Classes are taught by trained coaching staff and volunteers. The class sizes are 6:1.  Groups are led through a variety of golf skills including putting, pitching, chipping and full-swing while The First Tee Life-Skills Experience is seamlessly included in the curriculum.
